ASTROLEDGER
Last updated 31 August 2026
AstroLedger is bookkeeping and audit-preparation software operated by Astroc As Technology Private Limited ("we"), Hyderabad, India. This policy explains what the service stores, why, and who else can see it.
AstroLedger is used by accountants to process their clients' records. If you are such a client, your accountant is the data controller for your books and we process them on their instructions.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Bank statement files you upload, and the transactions in them — dates, amounts, narrations, counterparty names | This is the service. They are classified into ledgers and assembled into financial statements. |
| Invoices, receipts and other documents you attach | To read the vendor, amount, tax and date, and match them to a transaction. |
| Workspace name, and any contact name, email or phone given at sign-up | To create your workspace and to reach you about the service. |
| An activity log — sign-ins, uploads, exports, classification changes | An audit trail. Accounting software that cannot say who changed what is not much use for an audit. |
| Notification token, if you allow notifications | To send you the alerts you asked for. |
We do not collect location, contacts, photos beyond the files you deliberately attach, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity. There is no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK in the mobile apps.
AstroLedger never holds, moves, lends or invests money, and has no connection to any payment system. It reads records you already have. We never ask for and never store bank credentials, card numbers, UPI PINs or one-time passwords. If anything presenting itself as AstroLedger asks you for these, it is not us.
No AI processing is currently enabled on this service, and no part of your data is sent to any AI provider. Transactions are categorised by a rule engine that runs on our own server. If we enable AI-assisted classification later, this page will say so before it takes effect.
The service runs on Amazon Web Services in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. Your data stays in India.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build profiles. We do not use your books to train our own models. Access within our company is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service.
For as long as your workspace exists. Indian tax and company law obliges businesses to retain accounting records for several years, and deleting your books early may not be in your interest — but the choice is yours. Ask us to delete a workspace and we will erase it and its uploads within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain something.
Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Workspaces are isolated from one another, and every API request is checked against the workspace it belongs to. Access is by a workspace access code — treat it like a password, because that is what it is. Backups are taken daily and verified.
AstroLedger is in beta. Keep your own copies of anything you upload. We are not a system of record and we are not your backup.
You may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also withdraw consent and complain to the Data Protection Board. Write to sreeharsha@astrocastech.in and we will respond within 30 days.
AstroLedger is business software and is not directed at anyone under 18.
If we change this policy materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
